A stranger
She looked at him like she knew, all the secrets he held inside himself, just by staring at his profile from across the big room. Colors danced around him, women passed with long and big dresses of rainbow colors. But he didn't look. His hands were inside the pockets of his perfect ironed casual jeans. His walk was slow, his smile wide. He didn't look at her though. No. He liked the dance they were doing. Like a coming and going of waves. Now you. Now me. Don't look. Look a little longer. Walk away. Walk closer.
She approached. Wearing a smile like a weapon and an attitude like a trigger. She didn't know his name. It didn't matter, names were overrated. She reached for his hand without saying a word and pulled him towards her body. He gasped in surprise which made her laugh out loud, turning people's heads to the newly formed couple.
He grabbed her waist, it was wide and curvy, and he thought it was heaven. Their bodies danced faster than everyone else's, tuned to a different melody, but they didn't care. Their eyes never left each other's, a quiet challenge was cast between them, who would look away and break this magic? Their feet were so fast now, the bodies sweating beneath all the clothes, their chests rising and lowering as they tried to bring air inside desperately.
They started laughing at some point, unaware of the reasons that led each other into a stranger's arms. Spontaneous felt good for both of them, and so would the kisses they would trade in the dark gardens outside away from curious eyes. That was the best day of both their lives. An adventure with a stranger with a big smile. But what they failed to realize, was that the distant curious eyes weren't so distant after all. In fact, they were just a few meters away from the kissing couple, prying and lurking in the shadows. There was also a smile on this stranger's face, but it was a different one, a twisted and evil set of eyes, whose evil hid behind good manners and politeness. Do all the monsters wear disguises or was it just this one?
